Men of Faith Serve at the D.O.C.
Seldom have we seen such demonstrations of the unity and benevolence of the Church as we did on Saturday October 24th. We had the opportunity to take these pictures of a local organization called “Men of Faith” bringing seven Churches together to serve an awesome barbeque buffet to 250 of our local homeless friends.
The meal was served at the Daytona Outreach Center. Barbecued ribs, chicken, hot dogs, burgers, corn on the cob, baked beans and array of back yard culinary delights were all on the menu. The Daytona Outreach Center is located at 562 N. Ridgewood Ave. and is run by Ray and Susan Kelley. The Men of Faith organize multiple service projects throughout the month. We are very encouraged that they have decided to work together with a variety of local Churches representing a broad diversity of denominational and non-denominational fellowships. Our Purpose (Daytona Beach Men of Faith)
- - To unite Christian men in Volusia County ["They will be one, just as You Father are in me and I am in You." (John 17:21)]
- - To break down the racial and denominational barriers artificially set up by man. [How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity. (Psalm 133:1)]
- - To unite the resources of churches thus strengthening the Body of Christ.
- - To provide social and spiritual support to the least, last, and lost of our community. ["The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.'" (Matthew 25:40)]
- - To assist churches in making disciples of men.
- - To provide fellowship for Christian men in our community
